Walking past the infamous Hell's Machangulo Gate, here at the Santa Maria Peninsula, my feet pushes down int the wet sand as I run along this majestic coastline, and as I am running, breathing hard, pushing the sand between my toes, all my troubles just dissolves. It is crazy to think the brutal punishment we put ourselves day to day, how we endure the endless stresses of modern day life.
Thank goodness for a place like Ponta Torres..... here on the peninsula everything fades drastically, and the only thing that matters is that moment.
It is at places like these that defines what is important to us..... And sadly it is the moments where we feel we should be there for the quality on life. Something is different here, and you experience a certain degree of clarity at extraordinary places along the coast of Mozambique. It is a lifestyle, and not the one you are thinking about. We are talking about the value of time, time that you have in abundance, time to catch up, time to forget about time.
I suppose you can be on any old beach and have the same beauty and tranquility, but you cant have that exclusiveness, you cant have the feeling that suddenly your are much smaller that you thought. Now that you are here, the great things in life matter, whether it is fishing, spending time with family or friends. Or you are like me, you need to run your heart out, you need to climb a dune and feel the rush that this place can give you. Go ahead, book that accommodation and change your lifestyle for worried and stressful to happy bliss that you need....
And remember to leave only your footprints...

PONTA TORRES
When we left Clube Naval in Maputo, we had an audience of flustered spectators as we got ready to the boat ( not a problem by the way) and a jet ski – yes a jet ski fitted for recreational fishing, to cross the channel and ship lane to the Santa Maria peninsula.
A tad nervous of the journey ahead, we soon enjoyed the ride and fully enjoyed the disappearing skyline of Maputo. A good half and hour out on sea, she totally disappeared. We entered the peninsula on low tide which took some awesome technique, but the views we had of the coast was breathtaking. We glided past Inhaca with its green splendour and got to see flamingos with black tipped wings. We came to the conclusion this must be due to their feeding.
We came to a halt in the bay where Ponta Torres- Nhonguane Lodge resides along the calm waters. Boats lay moored on the beach as low tide leaves them gently on the beach, anxiously waiting for high tide to pick them up again, only to be halted by their anchors.
One is always greeted with great warmth and hospitality, but a more homely welcome came from owners Anton and Chene. It was like we have been friends for years, and this was our yearly visit out to their home. Greeted with ice cold R&R’s and a quick introduction of our team, we fell headfirst into relaxation.
Recent events have left a few of us completely stressed, and the security and tranquility of Ponta Torres us from all the day to day stresses and disappointments we have to face long
periods. This is truly a fisherman’s paradise, a sanctuary for the stressed, and a haven for both young and old to enjoy. You can indulge in whatever tickles your fancy, so long as you enjoy it immensely. Ponta Torres is about the quality of one’s daily life, so come on, live a little and know that this is possible for all....just take that leap!

Ponta Mamoli - Paraiso Azul - Amazing stay - Day 1
Paraiso Azul is a relaxing, amazing place. the fishing is going great with the boys going out on a rough seas to do some fishing. rain, shine, high waves they will be out there to fish.
The catches for the day ranged from a yellofin tuna caught for the pot. A couta and dorado was lost in the process, but that is fishing. The taxman as always did not disappoint and took a nible off the bonito.
The day was like a yo-yo with the sun and the clouds making turns to come out and excite us with rays of sun, and the clouds to come and damper our spirits.
A lekker lunch with a boerie rol with Nat's braaied unions and an amazing greek salad went down with tip tento and 2m.
We went for a nap which resulted well into the evening. we did plan to go out and have dinner at 360 in Malongane, but the vampire wakeup call, made everyone a little not lus to get dressed and going. Nat made amazing shushi with the freshly caught tuna, and it was off to bed again!! hahaahaha!
